about a week. She had a slight fever after this for months. The medications
she was on gave her perforated stomach ulcers so they had to operate on them.
Then she hemorrhaged & lost 7 pints of blood before they got her stopped. All
this time, her heart was fine. However because of this virus & her fever she
also had breathing problems. Finally she was totally dependent on a respirator
to breathe. On Dec. 24th, her respiratory doctor told me there was nothing
else they could do for her but make her comfortable & to consider taking her
off the respirator after the holidays. This was DEVASTATING to our family for
X-Mas. On Dec 26th at about 2:00 am pacific time ( still X-Mas in Hawaii)
Angel totally rejected the respirator & started breathing on her own. The
virus was gone from her bloodstream & she had no fever. Also, she was again
fully conscious & smiled at me when I came to visit that day. She was Mercy
General Hospitals Christmas miracle. 2 months later I got to bring her home.
She had been in the hospital for 6 months.

We spent the next 9 years totally enjoying life together.
