At the bottom of every video page is a World map showing the video's worldwide audience. Each red dot represents a location where the video has been watched at least once.

I find this world map fascinating. There are a lot of red dots where you expect them to be (Europe & USA), but there are two groups of hotspots which are unusual. One is on a small island off the west coast of Africa, the other on the Hudson Bay in Canada (Churchill?). Perhaps polar bear watching gets boring after a while.

Nice idea, and probably quick to implement, but I think the resources would have been better employed on the core video delivery system.

I would have preferred to see a who links here feature

I hope large number of Indians now have pc and they are keen to watch these video clips,it is mentioned very freqently in media reports

the red dots shows only how progressive "the country is"...as you can see most of the red dots are in europe and in the u.s., the are some in economic boost potential country like in Asia...but few in third world countries like in Africa...i guess that most developed countries have all the access in technology...

I can't see maps right now (why?) but i'm quite sure this "island off the west coast of Africa" are in fact Canary islands, which are part of Spain and, in fact, european territory, so there are first world . If this point are not the Canary they should be Cape Verde or Sao Tome, but they're african countries so i don't expect much traffic from them.

The maps have been disabled temporarily due to heavy usage of system resources, but we hope to bring them back soon.

Good. I missed them the first time round and would like to see them

I realize that this is a very old thread, but it would be cool to have the map but limit it to the video poster only to see, I think it would really be cool to see who/where is viewing your videos

Well, I think their should be a little key down by the map that indicates the eye color of the person watching the vids. Then, as resources become available, whether the viewer is right handed or left handed or ambidextrous.

Probably all good suggestions as well , although they do not concern me as of yet, I never saw the map (joined way after it was already gone) and think it is really cool. The reason I suggested it is, if server resources were being stretched when everyone saw the map for every video, then by limited it to a tiny percentage of the people viewing it probably would only add a negligible load to the server

Probably that's just 0°N/S O°E/W, and most likely it means that the real position is not available. I had this mysterious position also sometimes on my GPS tracker, though I'm sure I hadn't been on an island or the sea to the west of Africa.
